Ryman Creek Trail (735)

These trails, Ryman Creek and Lower Ryman Creek, both begin at the Ryman Creek Trailhead. After approximately 1.5 miles they split. The Lower Ryman Creek Trail stays in the creek bottom for approximately 2 miles then climbs out of the canyon and joins the main Ryman Trail. The main Ryman Trail splits off from the Lower Ryman and climbs out of the canyon. These trails join on top and continue until they meet up with Forest Road 564. This trail is used by hikers, horses and experienced motorcyclist. Many parts of these trails are very steep and rocky, especially where it climbs up steep pitches to the ridgeline.

Directions to trailhead:

The turn off for the trailhead is immediately north of the Dolores/Montezuma county line on Highway 145, approximately 3 miles south of Rico. Turn southeast on a two track road. The road goes a short distance uphill, through a small gate and into a flat meadow. Look for the trailhead sign about mid-way in the park area.
