Beaver Dam Trail #627
The Beaver Dam Trail #627 follows at a moderate grade along the Beaver Dam Drainage and is a route which ties together the Mesa Creek Road and the Long Canyon Trail. It travels through a mixture of spruce stands, oakbrush and through many open parks. This drainage contains many beaver ponds with intermittent sections of flowing water. A great amount of beaver activity may be encountered expecially along the lower 0.5 mile of trail. Additional wildlife may also be seen along this trail, however, no fish activity was observed along the section of water which this trail follows.

From Northern Forest Boundary, travel 17 miles South on Divide Road to Mesa Creek Road Junction. Turn right onto the Mesa Creek and head West for 0.4 miles to the upper Beaver Dam Trailhead. This trailhead is located on the left (South) side of the road.
The lower trailhead is located off the Long Canyon Trail #621. The shortest hike to lower Beaver Dam Trailhead on the Long Canyon Trail is 5.8 miles from the Northern Long Canyon Trailhead.
